Englewood Cliffs

Affluent NYC bedroom community on the banks of the Hudson.

Welcome to Englewood Cliffs

Englewood Cliffs is an affluent NYC bedroom community located in Bergen County, within a 10-mile drive of Manhattan and just a mile north of the George Washington Bridge. The community stretches for two miles along the west bank of the Hudson River. Englewood Cliffs’ low property tax has attracted both residents and major corporations, with several household-name companies maintaining headquarters here.

The real estate includes luxurious gated estates and spacious single-family homes in a variety of styles. Colonials are particularly prevalent, with other lavish properties inspired by French chateaus and Georgian grandeur. Masterfully designed and crafted, these inspiring homes provide an incredible living space within easy reach of NYC.

Happy Hello Shop is a whimsical children’s store with a uniquely curated collection of clothing, books, and toys. Wildflowers is a high-end florist specializing in providing the perfect arrangement for important events. Sylvan Avenue is also home to Tie the Knot Wedding House, a one-stop location for all aspects of wedding planning and preparation.

Things to Do

The scenic west bank of the Hudson River is the source of the “cliffs” in Englewood Cliffs’ name. Allison Park covers eight clifftop acres along the Hudson’s edge, with paved walkways and ornamental gardens. The 12-mile-long Palisades Interstate Park runs alongside the Hudson, offering beautiful natural scenery and great views across the river to New York City. The public marina of Englewood Boat Basin is located at the foot of the Palisades Park.

Around 200 performances are staged at the Bergen Arts Center in nearby Englewood every year. Many legendary performers have graced the stage of this not-for-profit theater over its decades of operation. It also offers world-class dance, music, theater, and voice training.

Englewood Cliffs’ grade schools are operated by the Englewood Cliffs School District, with Englewood Public School District providing the local high school.
